PAM (Portable Arbitrary Map) is the most flexible member of the Netpbm format family, supporting arbitrary channel combinations — RGB, RGBA, grayscale+alpha, and custom channels. Used in image processing research, PAM files can't be opened in standard apps. PixelForge converts PAM to PNG, JPG, or any format in your browser.
PAM (Portable Arbitrary Map) is an extension of the Netpbm format family that generalizes PBM, PGM, and PPM to support arbitrary numbers of channels. A PAM file can represent RGB, RGBA, grayscale, grayscale+alpha, CMYK, or any other channel combination. It is used in advanced image processing research and pipelines where flexibility in channel representation is needed.
